SSD Successfully Concludes Inter-School Football Tournament 2025
The Society for Student Development (SSD), a youth and social organization, successfully hosted the Inter-School Football Tournament 2025, bringing together top English medium and English version schools from Dhaka.
Tuesday (February 25, 2025), The one-day tournament took place, at the Offside Home of Football venue in Dhaka. A total of 18 renowned schools participated in the event, including Orchid, Islami Bank, St. Gregory, Educate Academy, Alfred, Green Scholars, and Motijheel Ideal School.
In an exciting final match, Mirpurβs Orchid School clinched the championship title with a 3-1 victory over Dhanmondiβs Educate Academy. The winning team was awarded a cash prize of BDT 20,000, while the runner-up received BDT 10,000, along with trophies and medals.
During the opening ceremony, SSD President Shahed Akram Musanna emphasized the significance of sports in personal development, stating, “Sports play a crucial role in both physical and mental well-being. To nurture our students as responsible citizens, we must encourage them to focus on both academics and athletics.”
Chief Guest Colonel (Retd.) Ashraf Al Deen commended SSDβs continued efforts in youth and community development over the past six years. He remarked, βToday’s sports competition fosters a spirit of healthy rivalry among students, contributing to their overall growth. As students, it is our responsibility to contribute to the nationβs welfare. Education and sports should go hand in hand as essential parts of student life.”
The event was graced by several distinguished guests, including SSDβs Chief Advisor Colonel (Retd.) Ashraf Al Deen, SSD President Shahed Akram Musanna, renowned journalist Moniruzzaman, and members of the popular English magazine Clarion Call. Also present were SSD leaders, teachers, students, and parents, making the tournament a grand success.
